Byron Bay Writers Festival
25th - 27th July, 2008
The festival is set amongst marquees in the grounds of the Byron Bay Beach Resort, just five minutes from Byron Bay township. Events are also held at the Byron Community and Cultural Centre.
The Festival takes place over several days at the end of July each year in Byron Bay and includes literary lunches, film screenings, theatre, book launches, interviews and panel discussions.
The festival occupies three days - plus extraneous workshops, sessions and events over the preceding week - and feasts not only the brains but the senses of humour of all who attend. It’s one of the favoured festivals of the region, because these are events not repeated, conversations unscripted and panels uniquely-composed.
Be sure to book early to make sure you get tickets to see your favourite authors and media personalities. Each year, 20000 plus people converge on Byron Bay to attend the festival. be sure to book your accommodation as soon as you decide to come! Look out around May for the festival program to be released.
