Byron Bay Gliding Club

With its fleet of powered gliders the club offers joyflights, trial instructional flights and courses designed to take the new pilot to solo stage in the shortest possible time.

When and where

Tyagarah Airfield, Old Brunswick Road, Byron Bay (Go past the first two hangars - ignore the signs inducing you to park - and continue along the road for about a kilometre to the white hangars on the eastern end of the airstrip. We fly on most days, wind and weather permitting.

What to expect

Sit back, relax and thrill as you take off in these amazing powered gliders, then be enthralled at the awesome views over the Byron Coast. When the engine is cut, you fly like a bird enjoying the freedom of the limitless sky.
